Hello!! Today I am going to talk about the values of caring and patience to “Self-Reliance” by writer Ralph Waldo Emerson. To start this essay, we need the definition of the values to give context so it is easier to understand. Being caring means feeling or showing concern for or kindness to others, and being patient means bearing pains or trials calmly or without complaint.
People practice caring all over the world, for example doctors, doctor care enough for their patient, because they are supposed to save their life, they practice caring everyday. Another job that practices caring is being a nanny, being a nanny is basically caring, they are almost the same thing. Caring is a value that can show many things and can mean many things, when you care you show that you do, you start doing a lot of things to make sure that that person or thing is okey, is good. For me caring is a very important thing because it helps people to prioritize everything.
The other value we have to study and compare to Self Reliance is patience. For me, patience is seen in this essay as something you should have with others, especially the people we just talked about, the kind of person who judges or tries to control you. Another aspect of patience that i see in this essay is that humans should have patience with themselves, because becoming self reliant is very hard and you have to bear with their comments and horrible looks.
Everybody is different, all men and women must be nonconformist, we´ll should create by our self an attitude that makes them have control of their lives, even though others try to change you, and there is where we have to show patience and tolerate the others opinions, but without losing who you are.
Literally what Ralph Waldo suggests is that our acts are our angels, good or bad, and your instincts are the ones that will guide you in the passage of your life. This is a work of a great philosopher talking about self-improvement and self-help.
He also displays a sad, but accurate statement in which he declares that all the great thinkers or philosophers had been greatly misunderstood since their ideas to change society were ruined purely due to ignorance thanks to the conformism of the now a day society, or even the one from their time. Socrates, Jesus Aristotle, Plato, four of the greatest thinker’s inventors and philosophers and all suffered the same unfortunate fate misunderstood by society and where branded outcasts and looked down upon just cause of their different ways of thinking.
This story give me a good Message and is that everyone of us dont have to be afraid Of what others says, their opinion about us, what they think about us, how they criticize us but we only have to worry about ourselfs, Of our thougts, our personality, our body and that we have to love ourself in the way we are and that we have to love who we are. Also in this essay is not about Taking care of the externals of life, such as food, shelter, and clothing. Instead, it is about the state of one soul, the author strongly advocates for trusting ones inner promptings and following what they say about ones vocation in life.
